This Bugs Away range has been blended to be as effective as possible and also created to be family and budget friendly, so no-one needs to compromise their families health by using toxic, harmful to health bug repellents.

You may wonder why we’ve decided to make our own? We have noticed when shopping for Citronella candles for ourselves, or bug repellent that the majority were ineffective or used toxic ingredients, plus as many people including our founder are asthmatic many of these caused issues with breathing.

We saw a need for something much more effective! After research and much testing we established a blend of essentials oils much more effective than just citronella alone and smelling a lot nicer too-this has led to this NEW ‘Bugs Away’ blend being created unique to us at LOCK & LATCH.

The 100ml spray will be inside a black PET recyclable bottle, as we thought our usual glass bottles would be impractical for the garden. We suggest to use it that you spray your surrounding furnishings, such as your beach towel, garden chair and if required you could add a quick mist to your clothes and hair (avoiding eyes). We have found this sufficient without use on the skin. If you want to use Bugs Away on your skin then please use the Roller Ball on your pulse points and follow the instructions for use.

The candle is in a one grab tin, which has a strike paper on the underneath and a safety match included under the lid, so you can keep one or a number of these in a safe place where all the family knows where they are kept incase of an impromptu picnic, garden party, BBQ or even in an emergency such as a power shortage. They can even be popped into your holiday luggage or an emergency go-bag, being in a tin rather than glass means these are a lighter, safer, waterproof option for travel. Candle tin Approx 5.6cm in height, 8.9cm diameter.

When empty these tins are perfect for use around the home, such as storing matches, dried herbs and spices, all you need is to clean them thoroughly and add a label of what’s inside.

Avoid if you are allergic to any of the ingredients. Discontinue use if irritation occurs. Not for use on sensitive skin. For external use only. Keep away from children and pets.

 FOR THE BEST LUXURY CANDLE EXPERIENCE

To ensure you have a long lasting, full fragranced therapeutic soy candle experience, please follow these instructions:-

CREATE A GOOD ‘BURN MEMORY’

• When lighting a soy candle for the first time, allow the wax to melt all the way to the sides of the container, OR for a minimum of 2hours.
• Don’t burn your candles for more than 4 hours.
• Always trim your wick to about 6-8mm before you re-light your candle to minimise soot and remove any mushrooming of the wick left from previous burn.
• DO NOT BLOW OUT  Extinguish your candle by using a snuffer over the flame, or place the lid over the candle to starve the flame of oxygen.    

TROUBLE SHOOTING-If you do not trim the wick regularly, if the candle is in a draught or is left to burn too long, you may get a “mushroom” on the end of the wick which will cause some soot to collect on the inside of the glass. If this happens, extinguish your candle, wait for it to cool, trim the wick to 6-8mm, wipe off soot with a clean damp cloth. Then relight and use as above.

NOTE ABOUT THE APPEARANCE

• Please remember all L&L candles are hand poured in small batches, not massed produced in a factory by machines. Although all effort is made to ensure consistency, every candle will be slightly unique and different.
• After burnig the top of your candle may appear slightly uneven & there may be some wax irregularities (such as bubbling or unevenness). this is a sign of natural soy wax in essential oils being used and doesn’t affect the candles effectiveness in your aromatherapy experience.
• We suggest you do not leave your candle in direct sunlight as it may turn a yellowy colour, although this should not affect the candles use.

The safe & proper use of your L&L candles is our top priority so we give the following safety  advice:-

• Never leave a burning candle unattended
• Never burn a candle for longer than 4 hours at a time
• Burn candle out of reach of children and pets
• Always leave at least 10cm between burning candles
• Do not burn candles on or near anything that can catch fire
• Do not place candles in a draught
• Don’t burn a candle all the way down. We recommend leaving 5mm of wax in the container
• Keep the wax pool clean and clear of matches and other debris to avoid flaring
